Aval Mixture

Ingredients

  • Aval (flattened rice or poha) – 2 cups (300 gm)
  • Roasted gram – 1/4 cup
  • Raw groundnut – 1/2 cup
  • Cashew nut – 1/2 cup (optional)
  • Curry leaves – 3 to 4 sprigs
  • Oil – to fry
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chilli powder – 1 1/2 to 2 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt – to taste

Preparation Method

  1. Heat Oil in a Kadai. Add aval to the hot oil and fry it well. Transfer the fried aval to a bowl.

2. Add roasted gram in the same oil. Transfer it to a container once its fried well.

3. Add raw groundnut to the oil and remove it ,once its fried well.

4. Add cashew and fry well. Remove it from oil.

5. Add Curry leaves and fry it. Remove curry leaves, once it got fried.

6. Heat 2 tablespoon of oil in a kadai. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt and asafoetida to it. If you want you can add 1 teaspoon sugar to it. But I didn’t add sugar.

7. Add the fried aval, fried roasted gram, groundnut, cashew, and curry leaves to it. Mix them well and saute for 2 min. Aval mixture is ready.
